Hello Everyone,

The next real fighter Sovankesa Som.  A Pradal Serey fighter from CA.  This guy has good fighting skill for the amount of time he has trained in Pradal Serey.  I'm going to post the video of him fighting in Glory 52.  He is fighting in the first fight.  Unfortunately, he loses, but it was a close fight.  The reason I'm posting it is due to the fact many lessons can be learned for kung fu san soo "masters" and practitioners that believe the crap that kung fu san soo is.  First, the size difference, Som is the smaller guy.  Second, the strategy Som uses that pays off in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.  Third, how to even defend oneself while you're implementing your attack strategy requires incredible skill and fitness against a person trying to take your head off.

Below is the video:

Okay, now that you've seen the video think of this.  THIS BLOG HAS MADE THE POINT THAT THERE IS NO SKILL REQUIRED IN STRIKING THE GROIN, EYES, THROAT, AND KNEES OF AN ATTACKER.  Anyone can do that and people who study the fighting styles recommended on this blog will probably be better skilled at it.

When you watch kung fu san soo "masters" or students train you'll see their punching combinations, kicking skills, etc.  First off, the fighting skills showed by Som in Glory 52 are very difficult and require skill.  Period.  His opponent was trying to hurt him.  Period.  If Som used kung fu san soo crap against his opponent (not striking the vulnerable areas of his opponent's body, but everywhere else as following Glory rules) he would have lost big time!  If an athlete and skilled fighter like Som or any other Glory fighter is going to not use traditional punching and kicking like you see in kung fu san soo than why should any other person studying martial arts to protect oneself?  Get my point?

Avoid martial arts like kung fu san soo and you'll be better off.
