Hard training. What does hard training look like? Well, these youtube videos show the fighting styles recommended on this blog in action:

The BJJ video shows actual BJJ in action and not training, but I wanted to add it for what is being said. Anyway the rest of the videos are showing training in Muay Thai and Boxing.
Does the music get you pumped up to train and go study the fighting styles? If so, I got news for you. It's not like that. The training is not always fun, there's real pain involved, there's times you're going to get hurt (physically and mentally; mentally is the worst!), there's times you're going to want to quit training, there's times you'll have to deal with politics (put political science 101 students in a real fighting gym and they'll see the concepts they're taught in the classroom in action), there's times you'll become so obsessed with training you'll abandon other hobbies, there's times you'll really struggle to stay focused because you're not getting any better at fighting, etc.. There's a lot of truths revealed in actual training for a fight or in the fighting styles recommended on this blog.
You know what though? It's worth it! It shows you the real world of fighting! I would rather live in darkness and stick to facts than stay in the light living a fantasy.
This is why I believe the majority of San Soo "masters" could never make it in a real fight gym. They couldn't keep up with people who train realistically. I've covered it before in past blog posts, but will probably touch upon it again in the future.
