Hello Everyone,

I don't believe there are a lot of martial art teachers that WANT to teach ineffective self-defense and fighting skills.  They just teach what they were taught by others and they are passing it down to their students.

However, I know there are martial art teachers that lie about their background and experience to get others to pay them money in order to learn fighting skills.  Unfortunately, there are people like that in BJJ, Muay Thai, etc.  There are people that lie and say they've learned Muay Thai in Thailand when they've never been to Thailand.  There are people that say they've learned BJJ and have a black belt when they are lying.  The same goes for the other fighting styles on this blog.

It's sad that happens because it can make the fighting styles look fake.  It's a good thing these people can and have been called out for it.

I do feel sorry for people studying traditional martial arts that think they are learning real fighting skills.  Hopefully, there will never be a time where they will find themselves in a fighting situation on the street.  May the people that are martial art con artists be hurt and their students who trusted them find happiness in something else.

*Again, I don't want to hurt people's feelings on this blog, especially good hearted people that want to learn self-defense, but there are some people in the San Soo community (certain masters and students) that have made statements they have no right to make when they have no real fighting background or skills.  The rank of black belt or master is no good when you don't face uncooperative opponents.
