Hello Everyone,

I'm going to discuss an issue that has already been touched on in previous posts, but I don't believe I went deep into the subject.  I've discussed that a person has only so much time in his or her life and only has so much money to spend (again, unless your Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Bezos, etc.).

Does a person want to spend money on something that is a sure thing or question what they purchase?  Going to a martials arts gym/school cannot guarantee you will get into shape or gain real life fighting skills unless you focus and study and train hard.  Yet here is another point.  What if the material you are focusing on really hard doesn't provide actual real fighting skills to handle the harsh reality one will face in a violent encounter?  That's where picking a fighting style or school comes into play.  I've been involved in martial arts for over 20 years.  I can tell you the fighting styles recommended on this blog deal with opponents that are non-cooperative and the harsh reality of fighting.

I really feel sorry for kung fu san soo practitioners that have spent money and time studying an art for years that hasn't provided realistic effective and efficient fighting skills when they could study fighting styles recommended on this blog for less than two years and gain real fighting skills to deal with reality.  I'm sorry, but the harsh truth and reality is that an art like kung fu san soo cannot provide fighting technique and skills against a fighting style recommended on this blog.  I can state this because I studied kung fu san soo.  I spent my own money and time training in it and when I compare what I learned in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu to kung fu san soo...kung fu san soo was crap, sucked, and wasn't based in reality.  If I used what I was taught in kung fu san soo I would have been killed.

Fine, I admit I studied for about a year, but I was exposed to the art and trained with a variety of belt levels.  I learned lessons like Ah-Soo, Fut-Ga, Toi Li Ho, etc.  I trained in the weapons and forms.  I did it and I can make the conclusion that kung fu san soo "masters" cannot hold a candle against the average fighter that trains in the fighting styles recommended on this blog.  Deep down, many kung fu san soo "masters" know they don't have skills equal to the practitioners of the fighting styles I recommend.  IF THEY DID, THEN THEY WOULDN'T STUDY THE FIGHTING STYLES RECOMMENDED ON THIS BLOG!

I've gotten into some pretty heated discussions with kung fu san soo sifu's, "masters," students, etc.  I can tell you right now, not one of them do I respect or would bet on them to teach valuable fighting skills.
