Dear Ron Gatewood,

I usually start off a post saying hello to everyone, but I'm hoping someone can send notice to Ron that this message is for him.

Anyway Ron, do you think you know who I am?

Guess what, you don't.

Have you once proved any information about the fighting styles recommended on this page can be beaten by kung fu san soo?

No you haven't!

Do you think the fighting styles recommended on this page are inferior?

If so, you might as well send messages to military units, police departments, etc to stop teaching their personnel them because I'm not the only supporter of these styles.

Does my blog offend you?

You'll have to answer that Ron because I have a belief but I always wait for the proof to show.

Good day to every one.

 Hello Everyone,

Yes, I know it's been a long time since the last post. A lot has happened to me, a lot for the better actually.

Anyway, I haven't trained in a while due to work issues but I hope to change that in the upcoming year. Hope to focus more on BJJ/grappling even though I feel Muay Thai/striking is more my skill and expertise.

I have continued to workout on physical fitness due to it's the best thing I can find time to do versus attending class setting and dealing with people.

My position hasn't changed on relevant fighting styles and I believe arts like san soo will try to change more into mma focus and aspects to not only appeal to public interest but because the shit works.

I spoke to a former Green Beret about CQB, hand to hand combat, and the SFAS selection (I'm going to write a post about elite military unit selections) and I'm confident to say that the fighting styles recommended on this blog are the best to apply to a real world situation of combat. They can be learned in a short period of time and have been proven against non cooperative opponent. Keep it simple when it comes to fighting and choose the shit that works.

As for the people that call me names and think I don't know what I'm talking about all I have to say is continue being a king in your own make believe world.

 Hello Everyone,

This coronavirus crap continues on.  I'm very blessed to be working in the career I've always wanted and to continue on.  The coronavirus has impacted my line of work like everything else, but life goes on.  I'm currently still writing notes and putting together a book about my career.  It would contain drama, humor, intrigue, excitement, danger, thrills, adventure, suspense, etc. etc. etc.

I've been very blessed and I must admit I have not trained in any fighting style (Muay Thai or BJJ) since this coronavirus crap began.  I have done my best to workout and stay in shape (I've had some luck but need to watch what I eat).  Luckily I'm not overweight and in above average shape.

Anyway, I think after all the posts I've made it's clear where I stand on fighting styles, but now it's time to continue on with other posts that are more educational for people to benefit from.  I just need to take time to do it.

Take care.

 Hello Everyone,

I know it's been a while since I last posted, but please understand that work is keeping me busy and I just got back from a vacation and training for work.  I'm going to do my best to make sure I post often about issues, but this blog takes a back seat to my family and career.

Anyway, I just got done doing some really cool training, but everyday I get older it makes me feel like crap I can no longer do things the younger guys can do.  Oh well, it happens to all of us.

Things are going crazy around the USA with rioting, looting, and the media sure isn't helpful in giving all opinions and sides of the story.  It wouldn't hurt for people to be prepared and to keep in contact with family members/close friends.  I will post a blog post that fits well with the current domestic issues.

thank you and stay safe everyone.

Hello Everyone,

So the recent riots going on in the country have actually impacted the organization I'm a part of, but I cannot tell you what I do.  Maybe one day I will...maybe...no promises.

Anyway, for certain reasons, one of my favorite websites is called SOFREP.com

In an article about a former Delta Force Operator and hand-to-hand combat there is a comment and it goes like this:

I remember in my high school there was a guy who would take a different instrument home every week, keep it over the weekend, then bring it back on Monday, to swap out yet again. We asked him eventually: "Tony, why do you keep switching instruments? His answer: "I'm trying to find one I'm good at."
Ain't that America? This kid had no father, and it showed in that very act. We don't want to have to work hard to enjoy something, we want to skip right to the enjoyment phase, right? This dumbass though he was going to stumble onto the instrument that he already knew how to play like a pro.
Don't go chasing martial art styles until you find one you are good at; you will suck at them all equally.
I remember thinking many many times that I wish I had not wasted so much time on fancy look-good karate, and had stuck to plain ol' boxing. Martial arts are taxing and TIME CONSUMING. Muay Thai is fantastic. Basic effective training of basic punching, and simple kicks that are easy to master and maintain. It teaches you to close distance effectively and to work timing into your punch/kick routines. Then, once in even closer than the fist or the kick, the elbow and knee come into play.
Once on the ground (inevitably) the Gracie-style grappling is essential. All-in-all I believe I just described Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Its a brutal field, but unsurpassed in this day and age by any wiz-bang Kung Fu fad--fun for the whole family; lose weight while having fun! That's like those armchair mercenaries who think they understand Chinese culture because they order takeout from the Mandarin Wok twice a week...
Keep your punching arsenal to 3/4 punches; keep your legs trained in 2/3 kicks. Stay away from troublesome situations as all cost, but if trouble still finds you, let it go with both barrels, and don't stop until it stops moving.

This advice given is more proof that the information presented on this blog is correct and should be followed.

I woke up very early this morning (had to do some work).  Anyway, as I was driving I realized I probably haven't asked a simple question to the readers of this blog.

What topic would you like me to cover for the next post?

Thank you.
