Hello Everyone,
Again, this is an old post from the old blog that I'm reposting because it should make any rational person question when choosing a martial art.
I was having a discussion with a former MMA fighter one day and we talked about several
aspects of training and street fighting.
Here is a question for all the Kung Fu San Soo Masters, KFSS black belts, etc. that say their art is too deadly to use in the ring or cage and can only be used in the street.
If you're stating your martial art is only meant for street fighting and can't be used in the ring or cage because it's too deadly why wouldn't your skills be good enough to overcome a man in the ring or cage who is limited in what he can do to you? It doesn't make since for a man to say his hand to hand combat skills are good enough to win a street fight where anything can happen (enemy pulls a gun, knife, or common object for a weapon), but can't or shouldn't fight in the ring or cage because he is limited by the fighting rules.
Again, here are the recommended fighting styles:
Muay Thai, Muay Lao, Pradal Serey, Lethwei, Tomoi
Sanda (San Shou, San Da), Kyuk Too Ki, Shoot Boxing, Yaw Yan
Dutch Kickboxing, Savate, Western Boxing
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Sambo, Pankration, Judo, Shuai Jiao, Kali/Arnis/Escrima
